Established in 1997 Big Jud’s has been a cornerstone of the Boise Burger Scene. Featured on Man Vs Food on the travel channel you know their classic burger is the real deal. The burger featured on Man Vs Food burger was a burger made of two 1 lb patties, bacon, mushrooms, Swiss and Blue cheese, with a a basket of Big Jud’s fries. They have been named by “50 States, 50 Burgers” as a must-eat burger. 

Their homestyle burgers are made with fresh ingredients, never pre-made nor frozen. They serve fresh-cut, skin-on fries with real milk milkshakes. If you’re feeling really hungry try the famous Jud’s challenge. If you can eat a whole 2 lb burger, you walk away with a free meal, and likely a stomach ache. this local favorite is serving the one of the best burgers in Boise Idaho. Saying they offer big burgers is an understatement.

Serving classic burger food in Boise, for over 10 years. Originally established in 2011, this drive in burger joint is the sister restaurant to Bad Boy Burgers. Their philosophy is “high quality food at the most affordable price”. They serve high quality patties, buns, and fries all at a reasonable price. 

Offering take-out and dine-in seating with booths inside, and outdoor seating. They serve all the classic drive in meals including fries, onion rings, burgers, and shakes. The fries are great but I strongly recommend the tater tots, which are extremely crispy and delicious. 

My Favorite Meal: Order off the Secret menu if looking for something new! Otherwise the cheeseburger combo for under 10$.

Established in 2009 and offering local, fresh, and grass-fed beef to the loyal patrons of Boise Fry Co. This is another restaurant to add to the list of best hamburger in Boise. This is the perfect place for gourmet burgers served with tasty fry sauce and other dipping sauce. The beef is regional, and hand-seasoned and formed with Boise Fry Company’s secret recipes. The burgers are cooked in a way called the “Belgium Style”. This style entails a long and low temperature blanch, followed by a hot and short final fry. Giving you a juicy, and flavorful burger! 

They offer unique burgers such as the bison burger, and vegan burgers, made with black bean and high protein quinoa. The vegan options are organic, and fair-trade certified. 

Marketed as a Fry Company, the burgers are nothing to scoff at. They serve 8 types of fries made from 6 different potatoes, with 10 different sauces. This gives you hundreds of ways to eat fries with your delicious burger. 

My favorite Meal: The Bison burger (BFC Original) with Red Fries.

One of the best restaurants in Boise for burgers, but also for brunch and other local favorites. The Shed is a sit-down table restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Offering picnic tables outdoors for large groups, with live music hosted throughout the Summer. 

 

One of the signature burgers it the Grateful Shed, which is a juicy burger loaded with blue cheese, crispy onion rings, fresh lettuce/tomato, served on a buttery roll. The Shed offers a large menu, but the burgers here are delicious! A great burger and a good experience overall!

The burgers at Eureka are made with quality burger meat, fresh ingredients, and buttery burger buns. Located at the heart of downtown Boise, serving delicious food and great burgers!

The bacon cheeseburger is mouth-watering. The bacon is crispy, the lettuce and tomatoes are fresh, and the burger melts in your mouth. Accompany this with crispy fries and an old fashioned coke! If you’re looking for a variation on the classic cheeseburger, try the mushroom Swiss burger.

Double tap offers fresh meat, tasty toppings, and delicious sides. The French fries are crispy, the local beer is refreshing, and the burgers are tasty. Double tap offers a comfortable ambience serving local beer and a full bar. The menu is expansive, but the best part is you can build your own burger to fill any cravings you may be having. Served with fries for 8$ (subject to inflation changes). 

My Favorite Burger: Meat (elk burger), toasted classic bun, pepper cheddar cheese, sauteed onions/mushrooms, with honey mustard and fresh cut fries.

The Refuge is serving up tasty burgers in Boise without the hassle of downtown parking. Offering quality food, generous pours, and reasonable prices. Service is excellent and the vibe is friendly. 

The refuge has a great happy hour for everyone to enjoy. The burgers are served with 1/2 pound of Angus beef, served on a brioche roll, with shredded lettuce, a tomato, and pickle. You can substitute fries for their crispy onion rings. 


This place rocks with fast friendly service and great food.

The restaurant has a full menu with a large selection of beers on tap to savor while biting into a hearty burger. There is large picnic style indoor and outdoor seating, as well as high tables at the bar. They offer flights, and pair the burgers with fries or a salad if you’re feeling healthy.

My Favorite Burger: Peanut Butter Bacon Burger: Bacon, City Peanut Shop’s Thai peanut butter sauce, Asian mustard sauce, pickled carrot and cilantro, Gaston’s brioche bun. Served with sweet potato fries and blue cheese dressing.

Established in 2020 and located on West Main St. Boise. They offer a 1/2 lb Western burger, a mile-high shake, and truffle fries that are going to fill you up. 

This place is comfort food meets electric steampunk, and a vibe you don’t want to miss out on. The meat is locally sourced from SR Farms & Double R Ranch Wagyu blend burgers. The shakes offer names like 420 and Midnight Munchies with mile high ice cream to accompany the savory burger. 

My Favorite Burger: The Boss Hog Burger (48 hr smoked pork belly, onion rings, siracha-bourbon-sauce) add a fried egg, accompany with death by chocolate milkshake
