Ponderosa State Park encompasses most of the 1,000 acre peninsula that extends into Payette Lake, and only a few miles from downtown McCall.
The park is built into the surrounding landscape, and offers backdrops of arid sagebrush flats, to warm sandy beaches, steep cliffs that overlook the beautiful Payette Lake, and forest covered trails built into the mountains. The trails around this campground are well maintained so visitor can explore the surrounding wildlife on horseback, feet, or mountain bike.
Camping is available through the summer months in four locations spaced around the park, and the rustic cabins stay open year round for rental.
The park offers 163 serviced campsites, 22 standard, 7 serviced ADA sites, 9 deluxe cabins (2 ADA), and 1 camper cabin. The park offers guided walking tours, kayak and canoe rentals, and a fire ring at each campsite to enjoy the evening with s’mores and hot dogs.
This park has a boat ramp/launch to easily access Payette Lake recreation every day.

Located about 45 minutes around Payette Lake, and settled behind North Beach, is the recreational area of Northwest Passage Campground.
This has been one of my favorite McCall campgrounds for years, and is the best place for experiencing the McCall wilderness.
The campground is a first come first serve location, so get here early during the busy summer months to find your perfect spot.
This is a great place for RV and tent campers alike as they have about 22 sites available, widely dispersed with heavily wooded areas. There are public bathrooms on site with vault toilets, no running toilets.
There is a ample open area to set up horseshoe pits, or find new adventures in the Idaho wilderness. They do have maintained trails around the area for horseback riding, mountain biking, or walking along the natural serenity that is Payette Lake.
There are established fire rings with a picnic table at each site. Walking distance from all sites to the beach, where you can enjoy stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, and much more. If you are looking for group sites, book very far in advance as they will fill up fast. Come enjoy the gorgeous natural wonder of McCall!
Camp Ida Haven
This Camp is a Christian recreational facility in McCall, Idaho owned and operated by the seventh-day Adventist Church. They welcome new visitors to the camp that can be arranged on the website or in person.
They offer camps for kids ages 8-15 throughout the summer months. During retreat season they host family reunions, seminars, and more. They do not offer RV/Tent camping without reservation.
